I love to sit down to a table full of delicious food and enjoyable people wherever I happen to be. None of it must be gourmet as long as it looks and tastes great. I see no point in adding ugly, bad-tasting calories to my waistline!

Southwest and Southern cuisine in the U.S. inspired me early on because I was born in the Southwest and my parents, cousins, etc. are from the South. I grew up on a large ranch and went to several colleges and universities in Texas, Colorado, Missouri, Massachusetts, and Spain. I enjoy education and I have taught at a few colleges, universities, and K-12 schools. I loved my work and still do a little teaching for a small community college near me but I am mostly retired. This allows me the time to travel, have fun, and experiment with food and kitchens.
Food has always been an enjoyable part of my life. I have a large family that provides me with a wonderful opportunity to cook, travel the world, camp all over, play on a houseboat, have snacks in a treehouse and thoroughly enjoy life.

My goal is to try to share some of this fun with you while we decide what to fix for snacks, meals, desserts, or just a simple bite.
